Who we are

Saathi Teachers Programme is an educational initiative under Helambu Education and Livelihood Partnership (HELP) operating under the theme of ‘Primary Must Not Be Secondary. It offers paired and paid placement for individuals seeking to teach Math or English at the primary  level in rural communities in order to help transform the educational experience of children. It is a two-years of supervised programme to increase literacy and numeracy skills of students, with an additional focus on fostering and developing 4C (Creativity, Critical thinking, Communication, and Collaboration) skills in students.

Saathi Teachers Programme work in partnership with the local government and the schools to assist the overall growth of the students and the school. We currently work in three Rural Municipalities- Paanchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality, and Tripurasundari Rural Municipality in Sindhupalchowk district, and  Aanbookhaireni Rural Municipality in Tanahun district. The partner municipalities pay for the large part of the Saathi teachers' direct stipend. And, the programme’s operational part is largely supported by Mondo Foundation, our UK partner organization, with a contribution from Inter Hands Foundation to ensure we can sustain the programme in three municipalities.
