Samiksha Prasai, a 23-year-old educator from Gokarna, Kathmandu, is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree (BA). With six years of teaching experience, she joined the Saathi Teachers Programme to make a positive impact on students’ lives, supporting their emotional, social, and intellectual growth. She believes that teaching is a key aspect of community development and was drawn to this program to extend her connections and contribute meaningfully to society.
Samiksha brings to the program a deep commitment to bridging the gap between students and education. She emphasizes inclusiveness, equality, and equity in her approach, ensuring that every student, regardless of their socio-economic background, has access to quality education. Her belief that education is a fundamental right for all, not just for those who can afford private schooling, was shaped by her experiences growing up in Kathmandu and witnessing disparities in the education system.
To future members of the Saathi Teachers Programme, Samiksha shares that dedicating two years to this cause is a life-changing experience. Though challenging, it is immensely rewarding, filled with memorable moments that leave a lasting impact. Despite the difficulties, the smiles and laughter of the children make it all worthwhile. As she reflects on her journey with only a few months remaining, she encourages others to embrace this transformative experience.
