Juna Lamichhane, a 24-year-old educator from Kageshwori Manohara Municipality-9, Kathmandu, holds a Diploma in Agriculture. Although she had no prior work experience before joining, she embarked on a transformative journey with the Saathi Teachers Programme to explore the education system in rural areas. Juna’s passion for education stems from her belief that everyone deserves access to quality education. Growing up in Kathmandu and attending private schools, she often heard about the challenges faced by government schools. This inspired her to witness firsthand the realities of rural education and the lives of students in those communities.
Through the Saathi Programme, Juna is committed to bringing positive change to the education sector. She contributes her knowledge and enthusiasm to create a better learning environment for the children she teaches. Reflecting on her two-year journey, Juna describes it as one of the best experiences of her life. She acknowledges that the journey can be challenging, but the love and affection from her young students make it all worthwhile. Juna encourages future members to join the Saathi Programme with courage and an open mind, as it offers not only valuable lessons but also heartwarming memories that last a lifetime.
