Chanda Thapa, a 29-year-old from Godawari Municipality-3 in Lalitpur, holds a Bachelor's degree in Humanities and Social Sciences. Previously, she worked as a property valuator at Prithak Engineering Consultancy. However, her passion for teaching and desire for personal growth led her to join the Saathi Teachers Programme.
Chanda was drawn to the program's mission of enhancing primary education in rural areas. She saw this as an opportunity to make a positive impact on young students while learning about diverse communities across Nepal. Unlike traditional teachers, Chanda strives to be a true "saathi" (friend) to her students, focusing on understanding their behavior and child psychology to create a supportive learning environment. Her core belief is that a strong foundation in primary education is crucial for children's future success. She believes that students who receive proper basic education can thrive in their secondary years and beyond.
Chanda’s journey with the Saathi Teachers Programme has been transformative. Before joining, she was shy and struggled with public speaking and communication. Today, she confidently navigates these challenges and feels proud of her growth, emphasizing that commitment is key to making the most of this enriching experience.
